Book promotion short animation

Kenaz bookstore asked me to create a video animation to promote the book "Si es amor, no duele" (If it´s love, it doesn´t hurt) by Ivan Larreynaga and Pamela Palenciano. I got a lot of inspiration by the artist Sofia Lazo who is the illustrator of that book.

This was a project that I really enjoyed making because I was able to make use of storytelling, character design, music composing and animation skills.

The sketches where made by hand, then made the digital line art for the animation in Adobe Illustrador and finally animated the drawings in Adobe After Effects.

Since this video was mainly for social media I decided to use 1:1 video aspect ratio.

Nico & Lui podcast

I have done a lot of designs for Public Communication of Science projects. My colleage and friend Maribel Campos created this podcast series in which Nico and Lui ask questions to scientists about things kids usually want to know about.

The character design was a very organic process because the stars of the show had already so much personality. There was no need to make up anything new other than using their amazing natural traits (like the clothing, for example). 

Drawings were made in Adobe Photoshop and animated in After Effects.
